Andy's Book ReviewLet me tell you what I just read... 8/10/2006 Aligned Thinking by Jim SteffenAnother one of the typical business/self-help books. It has pretty large print, small page with lots of space and really not much content. I wish I could write these 100 page books and sell them at $20 apiece. There's really only an old idea in this book: What's my MIN (most important now)? It is a fable of modern day corporate employees fed up with their lifes and looking for a way to live the life they want. They go to some "guru" who seems to have it all together and learn a new way of looking at things. It is basically to shift your thinking about the things that you don't really want to do but somehow rationalize it so that it is part of your overall goal. Nothing new that other more established authors haven't already stated.
It's a bore, pass on it. First postI like to read. Most of the people I know don't seem to have time to read or not interested. I can't imagine how different I would be today without the company of books. Maybe I would have picked up sports instead ;) Some prefer religion but I'd much rather have something to read. I have to admit though that I read a lot of junk as well. While I have read my share of the classics mostly for school, I do prefer a good story. I am going to share thoughts on books that I am currently reading and keep lists of what I've read.
